South View of Santa Cruz: the coastline in transformation
The camera from Tower 1 of Cabo Llanos offers one of the most complete views of Santa Cruz de Tenerife. Furthermore, from this high position, one can appreciate the port, the southern neighborhoods, the profile of the Auditorium, and, on the horizon, the silhouette of Teide. Thanks to our live webcam, you can see how this area of the city is progressing, which is experiencing the greatest urban transformation in the Canary Islands.
A perspective that narrates decades of urban history
From this tower, the view to the south brings together in a single image the essence of the capital: the sea, commerce, and transport. On one side, there is the activity of the port and the coast, with the TF-1 passing along the coastline. In the center, one can also see the large void left by the refinery, the central piece of the largest urban regeneration operation in the islands. On the other side, the modern core appears, with housing blocks, shops, and services that connect with the rural park of Anaga.
In summary, this view is not just a landscape: it is a real-time record of a city that is once again looking at its sea after decades of industrial use along the southern coastline.
From the refinery to the park: the regeneration of the southern coastline
The closure of the refinery has initiated an urban regeneration operation of more than 570,000 m² along the sea. Thus, the project envisions that 67% of the land will be dedicated to parks, squares, and public-use areas, while the remaining 33% will include housing, hotels, and offices. Therefore, the coastline, once a closed industrial line, will gain promenades, bike lanes, and public spaces that will restore direct connection for residents with the Atlantic.
In this regard, the goal is to build a 15-minute city, with good environmental quality, nearby services, and a new waterfront that connects to the Auditorium and the Maritime Park to the north, and to Avenida Tres de Mayo towards the interior. Thus, our live webcams will allow monitoring the progress of the works in real time.

What is the transformation of the refinery area?
It is the largest urban regeneration operation in the Canary Islands: more than 570,000 m² by the sea that will transition from industrial use to a new neighborhood with parks, housing, cultural facilities, and waterfront promenades. The process will take place in four phases between 2022 and 2030.
When will the transformation of the southern coastline be finished?
The schedule anticipates total dismantling between 2025 and 2028, and urbanization between 2028 and 2030, with initial green areas and facilities available before the final planning.
How does this affect the port of Santa Cruz?
The fuel logistics will be moved to the Port of Granadilla, which will disconnect heavy traffic from the urban core and improve pedestrian and cyclist access to the waterfront.
Where is this webcam recording from?
The camera is installed in Tower 1 of Cabo Llanos, at the southern end of the urban area of Santa Cruz. It is the same building from which the webcam of the Auditorium and the Maritime Park.
Can the Teide be seen from this camera?
On clear days, yes. Teide appears on the inner horizon, at the end of the city, offering one of the most representative frames of Tenerife: the volcano and the sea in one image.
