Puerto de la Cruz Tenerife: the city where Canary tourism was born
Puerto de la Cruz (Tenerife) is much more than a sun and beach destination. Located in the north of the island, it was declared a National Tourist Interest Place in 1955 and is considered the first European-scale tourist center in Spain: as early as 1886, it welcomed travelers from all over the continent in search of its mild climate and volcanic landscapes. Today, it retains that historical charm with over 140 protected buildings in its old town, declared an Artistic Historic Ensemble in 1985.
The heart of the city is the Plaza del Charco, from where the most interesting walks depart: the fishing pier, the seaside neighborhood of La Ranilla —with its open-air urban art museum— and, finally, the San Telmo Promenade.

What can be seen from the 360 camera
The HAWA Rooftop terrace of the Hotel is considered one of the most valued in Puerto de la Cruz, and from it, our 360 camera offers a unique view. From this privileged viewpoint, the Atlantic dominates the landscape to the north, while to the south the streets and rooftops of the historical center blend into the green slopes of the Orotava Valley.
To the east, the emblematic Lago Martiánez, designed by César Manrique, adds a note of deep blue to the coast. And on clearer days, Teide closes the southern horizon with its unmistakable profile at more than 3,700 meters high.
For all these reasons, this camera is not just a tool to check the weather: it is also a way to discover the geography and character of Puerto de la Cruz (Tenerife) before arriving, or to relive the landscape once back home.
The Paseo de San Telmo and the historical center
The Paseo de San Telmo, where the hotel and camera are located, is the pedestrian axis that connects the liveliest points of the city. Along its few hundred meters, there are café terraces, local shops, the Castillo de San Felipe —a 17th-century fortress— and direct access to the bathing areas on volcanic rock. At night, the promenade fills with locals and visitors strolling by the sea, making this stretch one of the most vibrant in northern Tenerife.

What to do in Puerto de la Cruz beyond the beach
In addition to Lago Martiánez and the historical center, Puerto de la Cruz (Tenerife) the Botanical Garden, founded in 1788 and one of the oldest in Spain, Loro Parque —one of the best zoos in Europe— and the Sitio Litre Garden, with more than 220 years of history. For hiking enthusiasts, the city is also the perfect starting point to explore the Orotava Valley and the trails leading up to the Teide National Park. Before any excursion, check our live 360 camera to see real-time conditions of the day.
