The beach of Charco Verde (La Palma) is a black volcanic sand cove about 250 meters long and 10 meters wide, located at the foot of a cliff in the municipality of Los Llanos de Aridane. Its crescent shape partially protects it from the waves, although the sea can be moderate and it is recommended to enter with caution on windier days. The southern side of the cove is the calmest and most suitable for family swimming. Despite its isolated character, the beach has a blue flag and is very well equipped: outdoor showers, restrooms, a kiosk with a terrace, umbrellas, a recreational area with tables and benches, unmonitored parking with 50 to 100 spots, accessible access with ramps and wooden walkways for people with reduced mobility and strollers.

One of its most unique features are the rocks covered with seaweed that line the shore and give that characteristic green color to the water. Charco Verde La Palma: what to do and how to get there

Besides swimming and snorkeling among the rocks, the Charco Verde (La Palma) is an ideal starting point to explore the west coast of the municipality of Los Llanos de Aridane. To the north, two kilometers away, is Puerto Naos beach, the largest in the southwest of the island, with all the services of an urban beach. To the south, the coastal road continues to El Remo, a small fishing port with a restaurant serving fresh fish favored by locals. Both destinations can be visited on the same day, combining them with a stop in the urban center of Los Llanos de Aridane, the most populated city of La Palma, with its lively market and tree-lined square.

To get to the Green Pool From Los Llanos de Aridane, take the LP-2 road south towards Puerto Naos and from there continue on the LP-214 to the beach parking lot, in a journey of about fifteen minutes.
