Playa del Inglés, golden sand and sun all year in Gran Canaria

The Playa del Inglés is one of the destinations of tourism in Gran Canaria the most well-known in Europe, with almost three kilometers of fine golden sand in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana, in the south of the island. The climate is its greatest argument: more than 300 days of sun a year, mild temperatures in winter, and a sea breeze that refreshes the hottest days of summer. That is why this beach remains a favorite for thousands of travelers looking for sun and beach in the Canaries during the twelve months of the year.

The live webcam from Gran Canaria allows you to check the state of the sea and sky before leaving the hotel, which is very useful for planning the day with precision.

Water sports and leisure on the coast of San Bartolomé de Tirajana

The sea of the Playa del Inglés is ideal for beginners to surf thanks to the constant and regular waves. Several schools offer classes for beginners and equipment rental right on the sand. Additionally, there are kayaks, paddleboards, and snorkeling gear available at various points along the beach.

The gastronomic offer of the promenade is very wide, with restaurants serving Canary cuisine, international dishes, and local produce. It's worth trying the wrinkled potatoes with mojo sauce, the fresh fish of the day and the gofio, which appears in many traditional preparations of the area. Beyond the beach, the village of Fataga, a few kilometers inland, offers white houses, palm groves, and a rhythm very different from that of the coast.

From Gran Canaria airport, the journey takes about 20 minutes via the GC-1. The Global buses connect Playa del Inglés with Las Palmas, Maspalomas, and other municipalities in the south frequently during the day and night. Parking is ample but it's advisable to arrive early during high season.
