In addition to having a huge variety of beach bars, located within La Playa de Las Teresitas, where you can enjoy the Canarian gastronomy or also visit the restaurants in the village of San Andrés that are located around it.
The beach Las Teresitas, originally received the names of: Tras la Arena and Las Teresas, among others, this beach was filled with sand brought directly from the Sahara desert to extend its length, also building a breakwater to prevent waves.
By means of a project carried out by the architect Dominique Perrault it was intended to completely remodel and restructure the beachfront, from the limits of the current Cercado de San Andrés ravine to the breakwater at the end of the beach.
Between 22 m and 60 m is the step. As for the relief, there are large rocks scattered, visible even on the surface, underwater, and without eye protection.
In addition, it would rehabilitate the environment near the beach, channeling the ravines of Cercado and Las Huertas, creating a bridge that would cross the new channel and new connections with future interventions to be carried out.
It was planned to build a hotel in the old San Andrés military battery, a possible sports area on the other side of the ravine and improve the road network linking the nuclei of the upper Anaga with San Andrés and Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
Dominique Perrault’s original project also included an open-air amphitheatre, small kiosks and pavilions dedicated to catering all along the beach, service booths and a car park and commercial premises.
Today, La Playa de Las Teresitas, is a place of very easy access, close to the city center, with a free parking that runs along the beach from end to end, a cozy place, a beach where to have fun at any time of day, enjoy the best coastal cuisine that represents Tenerife, the sun and the good weather that surrounds the capital of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.
