Benijo beach is a wild beach located on the coast of the hamlet that gives it its name, north of the Anaga, district in the vicinity of the village of Taganana, to which it belongs, in the municipality of Santa Cruz de Tenerife.

is one of the most spectacular beaches you can find in Tenerife, is a totally magical place that represents the essence of volcanic origin of the island, as the beach is black sand, is surrounded by huge mountains, bathed by the ocean and every sunset are drawn in the sky hundreds of colors that seem to come out of an idyllic fantasy landscape.

Benijo is not the typical Tenerife beach, those you’re used to seeing crowded with tourists, umbrellas and restaurants nearby. Benijo has no promenades or tourist attractions, just some stairs that take the breath away even for the fit and lead to an almost deserted paradise. This beach is not easily accessible, perhaps that’s why it still retains its essence and is not so crowded.

The beach is surrounded by a spectacular landscape, in which the famous Roques de Anaga are protagonists.

The Anaga Rural Park, is one of the points of interest of the island. Declared  Biosphere Reserve, highlighting its abrupt mountain range, which contrasts with deep valleys and ravines that descend to the sea giving rise to the Benijo Beach among others.

It has a length of 300 meters and an average occupancy in the busiest months.

It has no lifeguards and it is a beach with high currents so extreme caution should be taken when bathing. It also has no toilets, sun loungers or umbrellas, a wild beach in its purest form in which you can enjoy the magical sunsets.

Near the beach access we have the Restaurante El Frontón where you can accompany these unbeatable views with a restorative Canarian home-cooked meal. Fresh fish and fried octopus is the house specialty but other dishes are available on the menu.

Almáciga and Taganana are the closest localities to the location and where you can find ATM if you need to withdraw money and supermarket. The area has public transport, specifically, the 946 line that connects the capital with these towns runs every hour on weekdays and every 2.5 hours on holidays.
