This hypothesis is not a coincidence, but rather the result of stories and historical connections linking this Canary Island with one of the most mysterious orders of the Middle Ages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">After the fall of the Templar Order in 1307, many of its members fled. Some ships disappeared from Mont Saint Michel, the place from where they operated, taking their famous treasure with them. Part of that fleet arrived in Scotland, while another returned to the Mediterranean, but there is evidence that some ships escaped to the Canary Islands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-la-conexion-entre-los-templarios-y-tenerife\">The connection between the Templars and Tenerife<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Templars were well acquainted with the Atlantic due to their contacts during the Crusades. Additionally, there was already Genoese presence on the island, which would facilitate a possible arrival. In G\u00fc\u00edmar, near the ravine of Badajoz (also called Chamoco), there are references to \"men of light\" dressed in white. Some believe they could have been Templars who used ambergris as a source of light, something valuable in Europe at that time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Another curious fact is the presence of a statue similar to the Black Virgin, very common in Templar temples, which was later integrated into Guanche culture as Chaxiraxi and, subsequently, as the Virgen de la Candelaria.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"1024\" height=\"576\" src=\"https:\/\/canariaslife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/image-28.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-143363\" srcset=\"https:\/\/canariaslife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/image-28.png 1024w, https:\/\/canariaslife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/image-28-300x169.png 300w, https:\/\/canariaslife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/image-28-768x432.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 1024px) 100vw, 1024px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-hay-mas-tesoros-escondidos-en-tenerife\">Are there more hidden treasures in Tenerife?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition to the Templar treasure in Tenerife, some believe that the Vandals' treasure could also be present. After their defeat in 533 by Belisarius, it is said that Boniface, secretary to King Gelimer, attempted to save the Vandals' heritage by loading it onto ships bound for Spain. However, according to some interpretations, these ships may have reached the Canary Islands.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tenerife, due to its strategic location and geographical characteristics, would have been an ideal refuge. The northern part of the island, for example, was inhabited by people with light skin, blue eyes, and blonde hair, something uncommon in other regions. This has further fueled theories about the presence of foreign civilizations in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image aligncenter size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"900\" height=\"684\" src=\"https:\/\/canariaslife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/image-29.png\" alt=\"Templar treasure in Tenerife\" class=\"wp-image-143364\" srcset=\"https:\/\/canariaslife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/image-29.png 900w, https:\/\/canariaslife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/image-29-300x228.png 300w, https:\/\/canariaslife.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/image-29-768x584.png 768w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 900px) 100vw, 900px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-donde-buscar-el-tesoro\">Where to search for the treasure?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the most notable places are the Chamoco ravine, the Masca ravine, and the Degollada de Yeje. In the latter place, there are even engravings on stone that some experts associate with solar rites, although others see there the Templar cross known as <em>croix pat\u00e9 <\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Although there is no conclusive evidence, everything points to the Templar treasure in Tenerife remaining a mystery to be uncovered. And not only that, there could also be another, that of the Vandals, hidden somewhere on the island.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-conclusion\">Conclusion<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Tenerife holds more than just beaches and volcanoes. Its past is filled with mysteries, legends, and historical treasures.
