Its 45-meter bell tower dominates the horizon and receives around 2.5 million visitors a year. In front of it, in the Plaza de la Patrona de Canarias, nine bronze sculptures of the menceyes \u2014the guanche kings of Tenerife\u2014 created by sculptor Jos\u00e9 Abad watch over the shore. About 400 meters to the south, the Cueva de Achbinico is the first Christian temple in the Canary Islands. On February 2nd and the night of August 14th to 15th, thousands of pilgrims arrive walking from all over the island for the great pilgrimage.
