Its territory includes the <strong>Corralejo Large Beaches<\/strong>, the <strong>Natural Park of the Dunes<\/strong>, the <strong>Isla de Lobos<\/strong>, the coves of <strong>El Cotillo<\/strong> and volcanoes such as <strong>Calder\u00f3n Hondo<\/strong> or the <strong>Monta\u00f1a de Tindaya<\/strong>. All this in a single municipality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, <strong>Corralejo<\/strong> is the main tourist center in northern Fuerteventura. From there you can see <strong>Lanzarote<\/strong> on the other side of the strait. They are wide, with light sand and turquoise waters. Among them stands out <strong>Flag Beach<\/strong>, very popular for <strong>kitesurfing<\/strong> y <strong>windsurf<\/strong> due to the constant wind.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On the other hand, <strong>El Cotillo<\/strong> offers a very different landscape. North of the village are the coves known as <strong>Los Lagos<\/strong>, with calm waters ideal for families and <strong>snorkel<\/strong>. There is also the <strong>Playa de la Concha<\/strong>, considered one of the prettiest in Fuerteventura. It extends along the coast and creates an almost desert-like landscape next to the Atlantic. It is a perfect space for walking, running, or simply sitting to enjoy the contrast between the sand and the sea.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Just 15 minutes by boat from Corralejo is the <strong>Isla de Lobos<\/strong>, a small uninhabited volcanic island. It can be traversed on foot in about two hours via marked trails. Plus, its waters are ideal for <strong>snorkel<\/strong> y <strong>diving<\/strong>. It is necessary to request a free permit before the visit, as access is limited to 400 people per day.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-volcanes-y-montanas\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Volcanoes and mountains<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>La Oliva<\/strong> has two volcanic landmarks worth knowing. First, the <strong>Calder\u00f3n Hondo<\/strong>, a volcano with an almost perfect crater that takes about 30 minutes to climb. From the top, the views to the north of Fuerteventura and to <strong>Lanzarote<\/strong> are spectacular.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Secondly, the <strong>Monta\u00f1a de Tindaya<\/strong> has special historical value. On its slopes, engravings from the <strong>mahos<\/strong>, the first inhabitants of the island, have been found. It is a protected place and you cannot climb to the top, but you can walk around its base.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-cultura-y-patrimonio\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Culture and heritage<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In the village of <strong>La Oliva<\/strong> is the <strong>Casa de los Coroneles<\/strong>, a large manor house from the 18th century that now serves as an art and exhibition center. It is one of the most important civil buildings in <strong>Fuerteventura<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It is also worth visiting the <strong>Grain Museum La Cilla<\/strong>, which explains the importance of agriculture in the history of the island. Furthermore, the village has a 17th-century church and a tranquil atmosphere that contrasts with the activity of Corralejo.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 id=\"h-gastronomia-en-la-oliva\" class=\"wp-block-heading\">Gastronomy in La Oliva<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Restaurants in <strong>Corralejo<\/strong> y <strong>El Cotillo<\/strong> offer a good mix of local cuisine and options for all tastes. Typical dishes include <strong>scalded gofio<\/strong>, the <strong>wrinkled potatoes<\/strong> with <strong>mojo<\/strong>, <strong>fresh fish<\/strong> and the <strong>majorero cheese<\/strong> with <strong>Protected Designation of Origin<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In El Cotillo, watching the <strong>sunset<\/strong> from a terrace with a plate of fish is one of the best culinary experiences on the island.
