Garachico NATURAL POOLS “EL CALETÓN” Tenerife north – Santa Cruz de Tenerife
Garachico, municipality and port city of the north Tenerife, known by many for the famous Roque of the same name, sits on the lava of the Trevejo Volcano of 1706. It has the title of Villa and Port, granted by King Alfonso XIII in 1916. The natural pools of El Caletón are one of the most popular bathing areas in the north of the island. Annexed to these, is the Fortress Castle of San Miguel (BIC), built in 1575, used to defend the coast and town of Garachico. In addition, after a swim in the Atlantic, you can enjoy the rich Canarian cuisine at the foot of the sea. The Park of the Earth Gate is a very special place. There is located the arch of the entrance door of the old Port of Garachico (XVI century). Surrounded by green areas you can see an old wine press of the Hacienda de San Juan Degollado.
